Question:

Do I have to return all the money I owe to people before Yom Kippur?

Answer:

There is no obligation to repay prenuptial debts, before Yom Kippur, when the prenuptial obligation is lawful, such as a person who borrowed money or bought and undertook to pay until a later date.

However, when a person owes money because he has harmed his friend or because he stole to his friend, God forbid, in this case he must take care to return the money in order to correct his sin, or differentiate himself from going to his friend and asking him for forgiveness and informing him that he has damaged or stolen money from him, and credit him with the charge of money as a pecuniary debt and undertaking to pay him the money debt in a certain period of time even if it is after yom kipur.

Attention: You should not learn from one case to another, each case must be analyzed individually. Generally speaking, it's always best to have contact with a Rabbi in person, not just virtual contact. Note that where there is a local Rabbi("Mara Deatra"), one should ask him. The answers are under the responsibility of the rabbi who responded, and not under the responsibility of the website and/or the Head of the Institution.
