Question

What are the laws regarding feeding my dog on Passover?”

Answer

It is permissible to feed the dog a mixture of chametz that is not fit for human consumption, and even though the food is chametz, in any case if there are 2 conditions, to be allowed, a. a mixture of chametz and not alive chametz (such as bread and pita), b. that is damaged from eating by a person even worthy of animal consumption. And it is allowed to keep this chametz in your home.

And when you feed it, it is appropriate to do so by gloves, which will not stick in your hand from the chametz.

PLEASE NOTE*

Attention: You should not learn from one case to another, each case must be analyzed individually. Generally speaking, it's always best to have contact with a Rabbi in person, not just virtual contact. Note that where there is a local Rabbi("Mara Deatra"), one should ask him. The answers are under the responsibility of the rabbi who responded, and not under the responsibility of the website and/or the Head of the Institution.
