on: Why is it allowed today to eat animals, if it is not necessary (after all there are many substitutes)?

: Hello,! This question, needs a lot of elaboration, and is explicit in the sources below – but briefly says: First, even though the Torah has become very strict! In cruelty to animals. And a terrible deed appears in the Sages: about our holy rabbi, Rabbi Yehuda HaNasi, who received 13 years of severe anguish – for not acting compassionately enough, in accordance with his high spiritual level. And a terrible deed is known, from the ‘Ari hkadosh’. From one who was punished with the death of boys, for unintentionally molesting small chicks. And even to kill mosquitoes, or animals that upset him – it is appropriate not to kill them with hands, just by something else. For example: by water. But when it is not sorrowful for no reason, but for eating and use, and taking care to do so mercifully! – This is allowed. After all, the animals were given by man, for this use. (as interpreted in the Sages). It is true that when ‘Adam’ sinned first, he was forbidden to eat meat – but when all animals were saved by Noah and his sons in the ark, they were allowed back to us – thanks to Noah, they existed, who saved from the flood, in the ark he made.  Indeed, a person is commanded to act gently and mercifully with them, even when necessary. and not to slaughter cruelly, or unnecessarily enough. But know! That in the depth of the matter, according to the ‘kabbalah’, it is necessary to slaughter and eat them. Since there are people who have not completed their repair in this world, and their souls are reincarnated in animals – and when they are slaughtered, and blessed, and eaten at a feast of mitzvahs, it is a repair for their souls. And that it the reason that ‘adam hareshom’ was forbidden to eat meat after he sined. Since he descended from his spiritual rank, and had no right to correct them. But after ‘noch’ has given his soul for them, and rewarded kindness with the creatures, and held them in the ark for a year, he was allowed to eat them by slaughter. And on the contrary! There is a huge need for this. that by doing this, doing kindness to them, and correcting them in the commandments, to the next world. Question:

Why is it allowed today to eat animals, if it is not necessary (after all there are many substitutes)?

Answer:

Hello,! This question, needs a lot of elaboration, and is explicit in the sources below – but briefly says:

First, even though the Torah has become very strict!

Greetings Rabbi Chaim Zafarani.

Attention: You should not learn from one case to another, each case must be analyzed individually. Generally speaking, it's always best to have contact with a Rabbi in person, not just virtual contact. Note that where there is a local Rabbi("Mara Deatra"), one should ask him. The answers are under the responsibility of the rabbi who responded, and not under the responsibility of the website and/or the Head of the Institution.
