Question: Last night I happily attended a simcha hall, towards the end of the event a friend placed a cup in the center of the table in order for the diners to place a ‘tip’ there for the waiter. Me and some of the residents put money in the cup for the waiter, however a few minutes later I asked the waiter for something and he spoke with impudence , I decided to take back the money I put in the cup, a friend told me he thought I wasn’t allowed to take it back because the money was already called by the waiter.
What Halacha says?

Answer: Since the cup placed in the center of the table is not the waiter’s, but is one of the dishes in the hall, therefore the waiter did not win the money placed for him in the cup, and although the goal was to give the money to the waiter, as long as the money did not reach him, the diners may regret and take back their money.
However, if you have issued in your mouth that you are giving a certain amount of money to the waiter, it is not appropriate to retract your mouth, as said that the retract of his words is considered a lack of a treaty.
