Question

Is a Cohen allowed to marry a jewish woman who lost her virginity to him before marriage?

Answer

Hello & Greetings

A Cohen may marry a Jewish woman who is not a virgin only if she had marital relations to a Jewish person.

However, if she marital relations to a gentile, or to a person disqualified from her, such as her relative, she is disqualified from the kehunah family and a Cohen is forbidden to marry her.

It is important to add that in this regard, there is no difference whether she had marital relations to a Gentile willingly or by rape.

Best regards

Attention: You should not learn from one case to another, each case must be analyzed individually. Generally speaking, it's always best to have contact with a Rabbi in person, not just virtual contact. Note that where there is a local Rabbi("Mara Deatra"), one should ask him. The answers are under the responsibility of the rabbi who responded, and not under the responsibility of the website and/or the Head of the Institution.
