Question

Is a women considered a widow still after she gets devorced from her next husband?

Answer

Peace and Blessings

It is important to understand what you mean by the question of whether she is considered a widow, since from a halachic point of view in all the prohibitions that the widow is forbidden, the divorced woman is also forbidden, therefore even in the ketubah of a woman who is a widow and divorced, you can write only the divorced woman.

If you are referring only to the matter of whether she can be called divorced and not a widow, there is no impediment to calling her divorced.

But regarding the prohibition of marriage to a cohen, it is important to know that a woman whose husband died for any reason is considered a widow, and it is forbidden to marry the cohen gadol, but is allowed to marry an ordinary cohen. Whereas now, after divorcing her second husband, it is forbidden to marry any Kohen because a divorcee is forbidden to a cohen.

Regarding mourning for her first husband, the halachic authorities wrote that after marrying another person, she does not mourn for her first husband at all, because the second marriage expropriates the closeness to the first husband.
