Question

How much is the shour of the kazait matzah? And what is the shiur of matzah that should be eaten on Seder night?

Answer

On Seder night in the “motzie matzah”, one should eat 2 “kazatot” (if he cannot eat two “kazatot”, because of sickness or sorrow, etc., he will eat only one kazait, and see more in the comments what should be relieved for the sick). And in “Korach” another kazait (together with the maror), and in “Afikoman” another kazait (and for hidur mutzvah one can eat 2 “kazatot”).

And one kazait (of the mitzvah of the torah) it is estimated according to 27 grams (in the soft matzah some say 38 grams, but the main thing is that even in soft matzahs the rate is 27 grams), and the additional kazait can be estimated by 18 grams. And see the explanation of these shiurom in the sources.

The kazait matzah must be eaten at a time rate of 7.5 minutes (and if it can eat in 4 minutes, there’s an important compilation in that). And will be explained in the sources.

[And those who find it difficult to eat matzos such as the elderly and sick, etc., are allowed to crumble the matzot into small pieces (but not grind as flour), and can also put them in water, or in tea that does not hot. And if necessary, its allowed to soak in water, but all this is about water but not fruit water, etc.

Attention: You should not learn from one case to another, each case must be analyzed individually. Generally speaking, it's always best to have contact with a Rabbi in person, not just virtual contact. Note that where there is a local Rabbi("Mara Deatra"), one should ask him. The answers are under the responsibility of the rabbi who responded, and not under the responsibility of the website and/or the Head of the Institution.
