Question

Is a woman allowed to hum a tune into a kazoo with a man present. Or is that a violation of kol Isha?

Answer

Hello & Greetings

Your question is interesting

The kazoo is a wind instrument by definition, but does not issue a sound by blowing into it, but rather requires humming or singing into it with an actual voice.

Nevertheless, it is not forbidden for a man to hear a woman play the kazoo, since the voice coming out of the kazoo is not a woman’s voice and is not like the voice of the woman playing into it, but the voice is the voice of the kazoo, and only the way to play it is by singing into it.

Therefore, there is no prohibition on the part of a voice in a pubic woman, playing a woman into a kazoo.

However, despite the fact that there is no prohibition against this, it is not a modesty way for a woman to play in front of a man, even though he does not hear her voice, even when playing the guitar or any interments, but rather a woman will play in front of women and a man in front of men, and the woman’s dignity is in her modesty.

Best regards
