What is the messiah suppose to do when he comes. How will we know it is him
Hello
These precious questions have already been touched upon by the great Rambam in his book The ‘yad hachazakah’ Halachot Of Kings (chapter 11) and copied to you his words:
“The Messianic King is to stand and restore the kingdom of David to its former glory to the first government, and builds the temple and gathers the rejected of Israel, and repeats all the judgments of his day as they were before, offering sacrifices, and making sacrifices and tributaries as much as the commandments stated in the Torah, and anyone who does not believe in him, or who does not wait for his coming, not only in the rest of the prophets is an infidel, but in the Torah and in Moses our rabbis, for the Torah testified to him that it was said and the Lord your God returned your return and your mercy and returned and begged and goth if you were pushed to the edge of heaven and the Lord brought you,
Halacha C
And it does not occur to you that the Messianic King should make signs and wonders and renew things in the world or resurrect the dead and so on, this is not so, etc.,
Halacha D
And if a king of malchut of David stands in the Torah and deals with the commandments as his father David, according to the written and oral law, and forces all Israel to walk in the torah laws, and fight the wars of the Lord, then it is with the presumption that he is the Messiah, if he did and succeeded and won all the nations around him and built a temple in his place and gathered the rejected of Israel, then this is certainly the Messiah. And if he has not succeeded so far or has been killed, it is known that he is not the one promised by the Torah, and then he is like all the kings of the House of David who have died. And the Holy One, blessed be He, did not pretend but to try in it many that it was said, and that the educated would fail to join in them and to find out and whitewash until the end of the day.”
Sincerely,
May we soon be redeemed of the redemption of the worlds, and gather the rejected from the four wings of the earth, and hasten our redemption and redeem his soul, Amen

Attention: You should not learn from one case to another, each case must be analyzed individually. Generally speaking, it's always best to have contact with a Rabbi in person, not just virtual contact. Note that where there is a local Rabbi("Mara Deatra"), one should ask him. The answers are under the responsibility of the rabbi who responded, and not under the responsibility of the website and/or the Head of the Institution.
