The laws of the eve of Passover that falls on Shabbat (2025)
This year (2025) the fourteenth of Nissan (the eve of Passover) falls on Saturday, the chametz is checked by candlelight
Is there a segulah for reversing breech?
At the request of the questioner, we will present here a number of segulot for reversing the fetus that is in breech position. But of course, together with the segulot, the main thing is to pray for all your heart, and also to make sure to make a natural effort, so if God forbid, you do not see the segulah works, one should go to the doctors who are experts in the field in order to consider the possibility of a professional reversal at the appropriate time and with the right conditions.
The segulah of sataf water (or any other spring) for reversing breech
One of the most well-known and important segulot of embryo reversal is as follows:
When the husband goes with his wife to the spring, where the spring begins where the water emerges from the rock, the husband fills his mouth with water from the place the water comes (without drinking it), and passes it to his wife mouth, and then she will swallow it. And so they will do 3 times. And for the fourth time, the husband will fill a glass of the water untill the top, and let his wife drink. And no one shall speak when he filles his mouth untill the end of the process. This is the segulah[1].
Of course, one should make sure out of modesty that a man does not see them when passing from his mouth to his wifes mouth. And likewise, this segulah can only be performed in a way that she did not start the birth process when the couple is still permitted to each other.
If this segulah if done as mentioned, is beneficial in ninety percent of the cases[2].
As a halachic recommendation, before drinking the water, one should first bless “שהכל נהיה בדברו” on a candy or something else, with the intention of drinking the water. And at the end of the process to sat בורא נפשות..
To pay attention to the details of this segulah:
And as technical recommendations, one should bring and know these things:
And the recommendation is to do the segulah relatively close to the approximate time of birth, because if done too early, sometimes the baby can return to normal and turn over again. And in the Book of Orieta Deshmuel[5] brought a story with Rabbi Yaakov Yisrael Fisher zt”l advised this segulah and when it did not help, the questioner returned to him to tell him about it, and the rav zt”l replied that surely the segulah was beneficial and the child tured over, But it has already been reversed.
Another segulah – walking on four
It is known by the name of the Gaon Rabbi Yaakov Yisrael Kanievsky (the “Stapler”) zt”l that if the fetus is in breech position, the woman should crawl like a large baby on four cubits (two meters).
(Of course, crawling can only be done in her home so that she will not be seen by strangers, out of modesty).
Some wrote that every day she would crawl a littel .[6].
And in the name of Rabbi Chaim Avishalom Hacohen Frehiya zt”l, it is said that she will make seven laps “crawling” around the Shabbat table, and say that he does so “at say this is on the da’at” of Rabbi Chaim Avishalom ben Blanca.
If the baby is breech: check in the house if there is a book upside down.
A famous and important segulah, also from the Staypler zt”l, ,[7]for cases where the baby is breech, to search the house if there is a Torah book that is “upside down” (i.e. the upper side of the book is downwards – this is considered a disgrace to the books of torah), and of course if found, to place the
correct way..
This is especially common abroad, since the foreign maids do not know how to read Hebrew, when the libraries are cleaned, the books are returned upside down. But even in Israel, such a reality will not be prevented by mistake.
And it is brought in the name of Rabbi Yaakov Shikenazi Shlita, to examine even in the place where he stores the Passover Haggadah (which usually does not stand in the library due to fear of chametz) [8].
And in the name of Rabbi Moshe ben Tov, zt”l (known as the “Tzadik of the Mezuzot”), it is stated that it is correct to check even if there is an upside-down mezuzah in the house.[9].
And there was a story with a woman who asked for advice from Rebbetzin Batsheva Kanievsky, zt”l, what to do to the reverse fetus, and told her to check that there were no upside down bookes in the house, and the woman heard “pots” instead of “books,” and so she did and turned the pots, and by the segulah of the magnitude of the art of the sages, the baby turned around .[10].
More segulahs for reversing the fetus from breech to head presentation, in brief:
And apart from all of the above, of course it turns out that all the segulahs of an easy birth (which we brought elsewhere) are also segulahs for reversing the fetus, because breech birth is not an “easy” birth at all.
Have a easy Birth and All Mili Damitav.
PLEASE NOTE*
Attention: You should not learn from one case to another, each case must be analyzed individually. Generally speaking, it's always best to have contact with a Rabbi in person, not just virtual contact. Note that where there is a local Rabbi("Mara Deatra"), one should ask him. The answers are under the responsibility of the rabbi who responded, and not under the responsibility of the website and/or the Head of the Institution.
