on : Hi Rav, I read that the 15th of Av is a favorable day to find your Zivug. I was wondering what is recommended to do on that day to find a good Zivug? Not that I have encountered difficulties in this area, but it just seems to me that the time has come to get my shidduch… Response: The exceptional virtues of 15 Av and the specific Segula of this day to find your shiduch.     The 15th of Av is a great day, and the Sages said that “there were no better days for the Jewish people than the 15th of Av and Yom Kippur”. In Temple times, this day was the day of “Shiduchim” (meeting between a boy and a girl to get to know each other with a view to marriage), which indicates that the Sages knew that this day is very favorable to find their Zivug – spouse. One can learn that this day is especially beneficial for the theme of weddings, as some of the good events that happened to our ancestors on this day were in the context of marriage, as explained in the Gemara (Ta’anit 30: ) that on the 15th of Av the twelve tribes received permission to perform intertribal marriages without restrictions (previously one could only marry within the same tribe) and on this same date the members of the tribe of Binyamin were also given authorization to marry members of other tribes (although previously the other tribes had forbidden marriage to Binyamin after the event of Pilegesh Baguiva’). According to the secret meaning of the Torah – Kabbalah, the reason why this day is especially auspicious for finding the Zivug is because on this day there is an elevation of the Shechinah (Divine Manifestation) in the people of Israel, making it more accessible to possibility of finding the right Zivug, as the whole essence of marriage is that the Shechinah resides in the couple. [From this it is understandable how no frivolity between boys and girls can be allowed on this day (as well as on any other day), as unchastity drives away the Shechina and this prevents the possibility of easily finding a good Zivug]. The “Bnei Yissachar” explains that the 15th of Av is 40 days before the 25th of the month of Elul, which is the day of creation of the world. And so, in relation to the whole creation of the world, the notion of the 40 days preceding the conception of the baby applies in connection with which it was said that a heavenly voice sounded and said “So and so’s daughter is destined to be married with beltrano”. And based on their words, our Sages teach us that on this day there is a special Segula to find your Zivug. What must one do on the 15th of Av to deserve to find his Zivug? The main thing to do on this day to find your husband or wife is to pray to Hashem with all your heart, because this day is especially favorable for accepting prayers (in general – and in particular for finding your Zivug, as that is the subject of the day). In the same way, all Segulot to find the right Zivug, if done on that day, then it stands to reason that they will be especially beneficial. We can also learn from the Mishnah of the Ta’anit treatise mentioned above, that even “efforts” to obtain the good Zivug (of course we are talking about efforts made in holiness and purity as mentioned (an example of effort would be to call a Shadchan – matchmaker – or a Shadchanit) – if we make these efforts on the 15th of Av, we can expect them to bear fruit, more than on other days [But of course one should not wait for the 15th of Av to invest efforts – Hishtadlut -, because in Shiduchim’s domain one should never leave things behind. It’s just adding extra effort on that day]. You will find the Ségulot index here Sources

The main thing to do on this day to find your husband or wife is to pray to Hashem with all your heart, because this day is especially favorable for accepting prayers (in general – and in particular for finding your Zivug, as that is the subject of the day).
