on: The minister of the Torah hagaon Rabbi Shmaryahu Yosef Chaim Kanievsky Ztzal passed away last week, on the evening of Shabbat 15 Adar B, Purim Damukfim. And in the states it’s still a long time until Shabbat, and we wanted to give a ‘hesped’ and we didn’t know if it was possible because it was Purim. What’s the halacha in that?

:    It was permissible and commanded to be ‘Maspid’ the ‘Gadol Hador’. And you will be sure to be ‘Maspid’ him now within the days of the ‘Shivah’, so that there will be no god forbid “Lazy in the eulogy of a Hacham, etc”. Sources briefly
