can a jew bless "Happy New Year" on the secular year

Question:

On New Year’s Eve (the night at the beginning of the secular year – January 1), is it permissible to Wish friends (Jews and non-Jews) a “Happy New Year”? And can I wish them a year of
Health and prosperity as we do on Rosh Hashanah?

Answer:

It is permissible to bless a non-Jew at the beginning of the year, in any language and in any form, and as we do to on the day of our feast and on the day of our joy, but you should avoid not to bless them “shalom”, on this date. But a jew should not be blessed a happy new year on that date.

Attention: You should not learn from one case to another, each case must be analyzed individually. Generally speaking, it's always best to have contact with a Rabbi in person, not just virtual contact. Note that where there is a local Rabbi("Mara Deatra"), one should ask him. The answers are under the responsibility of the rabbi who responded, and not under the responsibility of the website and/or the Head of the Institution.
