Question

Shalom Rav

A pentateuch translated carelessly, as a manipulation to fulfill a certain goal,

Is it still holy?

Answer

Hello & Greetings

A Pentateuch that is distortedly translated by missionaries or worshippers, such as the New Testament. Not only is the Pentateuch not holy, but there is a commandment to burn the entire book and destroy it.

Likewise, if the book was carelessly translated in a distorted manner by heretics and wicked people, the book should be burned, but the Pentateuch can be separated from the commentary, in that case the Pentateuch should be buried and the commentary should be burned.

But if the commentary was not written by idol worshippers, nor by wicked and infidels, but by ignorant people and nations who wrote crooked commentaries from their hearts. In such a case, the Pentateuch must be separated from the translation, the Pentateuch should be buried, and the commentary should be thrown into the garbage where it cannot be removed. And if the entire book is a translation and commentary, or for whatever reason it is impossible to separate the Pentateuch from the translation and commentary, the entire book should be thrown in the garbage in such a way that no one can remove it, and it is preferable to do so in a separate bag that is not in a disgraceful way.

information, is there any other web page which provides such

Attention: You should not learn from one case to another, each case must be analyzed individually. Generally speaking, it's always best to have contact with a Rabbi in person, not just virtual contact. Note that where there is a local Rabbi("Mara Deatra"), one should ask him. The answers are under the responsibility of the rabbi who responded, and not under the responsibility of the website and/or the Head of the Institution.
