on:   We are told that it is permissible to test Hashem regarding tzedakah, though I was never told what the parameters of success or failure are. This year I gave around 200% of my income to tzedakah (a few thousand to chabad Jewish causes and much more to help my mother), around $40k in total,. Yet this year has been the most financially disastrous year of my life. How do I know when the test has failed, and how do I reconcile the results with the promise?

:   Peace and blessing First, I share my grief over the losses you have suffered. Know, my friend, what they have said to you correctly, it is permissible to try the Creator blessed with the commandments of charity, as stated in the prophet Malachi (Chapter 3), “ובחנוני נא בזאת”, the Creator promises to shower a great abundance on those who adhere and adopt the commandments of charity. Giving charity is a kind of partnership with the Creator, I will give, and you the Creator will affect me more and more, but we must not forget, not always the result is immediate, sometimes the investment is longer term, sometimes it takes time to see the profits. Without a doubt the Creator will shower you with great abundance, God knows his partners and affects them all the best, only he can make an endless impact, the question is only how long it will take you to see it. In addition, many times the Creator influences a great abundance that is hidden, that is, the Creator gives blessing in what you have, that things in your home do not spoil, do not need medical expenses or other treatments, etc., not always the blessing is evident plus the visible amount. Rest assured that you will still see great profits and a great blessing in all your business, the best partner I could wish for myself is a partner like the Creator. Strengthen the belief that the Creator will be blessed to pay and affect you great abundance, do not let this attempt confuse you. You will continue to strengthen yourself in prayer as well, turn to the Creator like your partner, and with the help of the Creator you will see a very great blessing. Peace and blessing

First, I share my grief over the losses you have suffered.

Know, my friend, what they have said to you correctly, it is permissible to try the Creator blessed with the commandments of charity, as stated in the prophet Malachi (Chapter 3), “ובחנוני נא בזאת“, the Creator promises to shower a great abundance on those who adhere and adopt the commandments of charity.
