Question

answer

Q A divorcee who pays child support according to the law does he observe Mitzvah charity, since according to Torah law he is obligated to support child support over the age of 6?.

A In the Gemara it is explained “who does charity at all times” it is said of the breadwinner that his sons and little daughters are under the age of six, and even above the age of six he must feed – the sages correct, and force him to do so, and it is considered a mitzvah of charity, and even nowadays even that according to the law is obligatory, he fulfills in it a mitzvah of charity, however he is not allowed to repay it from Mahaser.

Attention: You should not learn from one case to another, each case must be analyzed individually. Generally speaking, it's always best to have contact with a Rabbi in person, not just virtual contact. Note that where there is a local Rabbi("Mara Deatra"), one should ask him. The answers are under the responsibility of the rabbi who responded, and not under the responsibility of the website and/or the Head of the Institution.
