on: Rabbi, my mother is not Jewish, but my DNA test says I am part Jewish. I am a Christian. Am I allowed to convert to Orthodox Judaism? It calls to my spirit! Thank you, Rabbi.
: Peace and blessing. According to Jewish law, Judaism is determined by the mother, so as long as your mother is not Jewish, you are not Jewish either. Even when DNA results are found that prove that you also have Jewish roots, this does not prove Judaism. Only when results arrive in the mitochondrial DNA that is sequenced, which is completely compatible with the information that comes from the databases found only in populations that are definitely Jewish, can these results be used as proof of Judaism, and usually together with tests and finding additional evidence. Despite the above, to the extent that you genuinely wish to convert, regardless of the results of your DNA, you may do so. However, know that Judaism is not an ‘easy life’, and the Creator of the world does not command a non-Jew to convert. Therefore, I do not recommend that you convert, unless it is a strong will in you and it strengthens and intensifies and does not stop. You should know that even a non-Jew has some commandments on which the Creator of the world requires him to uphold, and perhaps in the observance of these commandments you will feel connected and connected to the Creator of the world, and you will find a reassurance to your pure soul. With a blessing of success wherever you go Rabbi David Ohayon Sources and Scores

Attention: You should not learn from one case to another, each case must be analyzed individually. Generally speaking, it's always best to have contact with a Rabbi in person, not just virtual contact. Note that where there is a local Rabbi("Mara Deatra"), one should ask him. The answers are under the responsibility of the rabbi who responded, and not under the responsibility of the website and/or the Head of the Institution.
