on: I have heard that there is a segulah to awaken repentance by bring people back to hashem, who write the name of the person who wants him to repent on a stone, and place it in the oven together with the challah of Shabbat, and leave there for two weeks, and then place the stone on the tomb of a tzadik. I wanted to know what are the exact details of this segulah, and what is the wording that should be written on the stone, because I heard all kinds of different ways in it.

: The following are the details of the segulah combined with the sources (from my book Shoshani Tzion – still in editing). A well-known segulah to awaken repentance to those who went out in an evil culture 86, to take a stone (a new and unused stone) and put on Friday in an oven that was inferred for baking challah for Shabbat, and leave the stone there all week until after baking the challah on the second Shabbat, and then the stone will be taken and written on it the name of the person who went out to a bad culture, (his name and the name of his mother – ploney ben ploney), And he will also write: “And just as the bleaching is burning in the oven of fire, so will his heart who has gone out into an evil culture, that his heart will be turned into heaven for good,” and then he will read the above text three times. And then he would place the stone on the grave of a tzadik, so that he would stand there for at least one week[1]. And there are some of greatest rabies in the last generation who were very supportive of this facult and published it[2]. And some attribute this virtue to Our Rabbi arizal[3]. And some details and changes were stated in this: 1) The sources state that there should be a “fire stove”[4]. And an electric oven that has a heating element that manifests itself, is consider to be a fire oven[5]. And some say that for the purpose of this segulah, it should be a bakery’s oven, and that the oven should be used all week except for Shabbat[6]. The stone should be inserted when the oven has already warmed, but before inserting the dough of the challah[7]. [And there are those who have added this, it is necessary to place the challah on top of the birch, but there is no authoritative source for this at all[8]]. Regarding the wording of the statement, some say that it should be written “burned in the oven” (past tense) and not “burns in the oven” (present tense)[9]. And there are those who have adopted a completely different wording, which refers to the oven and not to the stone: “Just as the oven heats up in honor of Shabbat, so will the heart of a certain person be warmed to the love of G-d and his commandments”[10]. There are those who have taken the wording “as for this intelligence, etc.” it is not necessary to write it on the stone, but only to say it in the mouth, but the name of the person and the name of his mother, should be written on the stone[11]. However, in most of the sources, it is explained that it is necessary to write the entire text on the stone (once) and also to say it in the mouth (3 times)[12]. And some wrote to make sure that the wording be written on a separate line below the line of the name[13]. 5) According to those who believe that it is necessary to write the text on the stone, it must be written after it was removed from the oven on the second Sabbath[14]. However, there are those who wrote that they should write before putting them in the oven on the first Sabbath, and if the letters were spoiled because of the heat, write again, and then lay on the tomb of the righteous[15]. And a third method is, to write the text on the eve of the second Sabbath and again to put in the oven, that is, place on the first Sabbath without writing, and leave in the oven all week, and then on the eve of the second Sabbath they write the text and also say the version three times, and again throw it into the oven with the challot, and then take it out to lay in the tomb of the righteous[16]. 6) There are those who say that the above writing should be in Assyrian script[17]. Regarding the quality of the stone, some have written that the stone should be in the form of a rectangle[18]. And there are those who wrote that it is not necessary for there to be a rectangle, and it is possible to have a square, and the main thing is that there will be no rounded sides, but that there will be all the corners that are square[19]. some say it is necessary that the stone will be made of clay (and not of stone, etc.)[20]. And sone say it is fine with ceramic) model, [21]. And some used to make the stone themselves using clay[22]. And there are those who have taken the need with a stone made out of clay, but the main thing is that it be a smoothstone[23]. There are those who have written, that the stone should remain hole after it is removed from the oven[24]. There are those who say, when the stone is placed in the tombstone of the righteous, it is better to place it in the head of the righteous[25]. And therefore it should be on the tombstone and not next to it[26]. Some say to leave the stone on the tomb of the righteous for one week, that is, in such a way that one Sabbathwill remain[27]. And there are those who have taken the need for you to stay “some weeks”[28]. There are those who have written, that before the stone is placed on the tombstone of the righteous, the righteous should be asked for forgiveness[29]. . There are those who have written that the above segulah is useful only for those who have embarked on a really bad culture, and not for those who need reinforcement in fear of heaven[30]. However, the greats of the last generation[31] recommended this segulah even to boys who were significantly weakened by fear of heaven, even though they did not embark on a simply bad culture.   Sources (here)

Answer:

The following are the details of the segulah combined with the sources (from my book Shoshani Tzion – still in editing).

A well-known segulah to awaken repentance to those who went out in an evil culture 86, to take a stone (a new and unused stone) and put on Friday in an oven that was inferred for baking challah for Shabbat, and leave the stone there all week until after baking the challah on the second Shabbat, and then the stone will be taken and written on it the name of the person who went out to a bad culture, (his name and the name of his mother – ploney ben ploney)And he will also write: “And just as the bleaching is burning in the oven of fire, so will his heart who has gone out into an evil culture, that his heart will be turned into heaven for good,” and then he will read the above text three timesAnd then he would place the stone on the grave of a tzadik, so that he would stand there for at least one week[1]. And there are some of greatest rabies in the last generation who were very supportive of this facult and published it[2]. And some attribute this virtue to Our Rabbi arizal[3].

And some details and changes were stated in this:

1) The sources state that there should be a “fire stove”[4]And an electric oven that has a heating element that manifests itself, is consider to be a fire oven[5]. And some say that for the purpose of this segulah, it should be a bakery’s oven, and that the oven should be used all week except for Shabbat[6].

  1. The stone should be inserted when the oven has already warmed, but before inserting the dough of the challah[7]. [And there are those who have added this, it is necessary to place the challah on top of the birch, but there is no authoritative source for this at all[8]].

  3. There are those who have taken the wording “as for this intelligence, etc.” it is not necessary to write it on the stone, but only to say it in the mouth, but the name of the person and the name of his mother, should be written on the stone[11]However, in most of the sources, it is explained that it is necessary to write the entire text on the stone (once) and also to say it in the mouth (3 times)[12]. And some wrote to make sure that the wording be written on a separate line below the line of the name[13].

5) According to those who believe that it is necessary to write the text on the stone, it must be written after it was removed from the oven on the second Sabbath[14]. However, there are those who wrote that they should write before putting them in the oven on the first Sabbath, and if the letters were spoiled because of the heat, write again, and then lay on the tomb of the righteous[15]And a third method is, to write the text on the eve of the second Sabbath and again to put in the oven, that is, place on the first Sabbath without writing, and leave in the oven all week, and then on the eve of the second Sabbath they write the text and also say the version three times, and again throw it into the oven with the challot, and then take it out to lay in the tomb of the righteous[16].

6) There are those who say that the above writing should be in Assyrian script[17].

  1. Regarding the quality of the stone, some have written that the stone should be in the form of a rectangle[18]And there are those who wrote that it is not necessary for there to be a rectangle, and it is possible to have a square, and the main thing is that there will be no rounded sides, but that there will be all the corners that are square[19].

  2. some say it is necessary that the stone will be made of clay (and not of stone, etc.)[20]. And sone say it is fine with ceramic) model, [21]. And some used to make the stone themselves using clay[22]. And there are those who have taken the need with a stone made out of clay, but the main thing is that it be a smoothstone[23].

  3. There are those who have written, that the stone should remain hole after it is removed from the oven[24].

  4. There are those who say, when the stone is placed in the tombstone of the righteous, it is better to place it in the head of the righteous[25]And therefore it should be on the tombstone and not next to it[26].

  5. Some say to leave the stone on the tomb of the righteous for one week, that is, in such a way that one Sabbathwill remain[27]. And there are those who have taken the need for you to stay “some weeks”[28].
