Why should I want to have another child when the world is so rotten and so much Pain and suffering and illnesses that it seems like it is almost a sin to be alive?

:

I very much understand your question!

A man must do his role in the world, and the Creator’s commandments without over-accounting, and because we are commanded in the Torah by the commandments of “pro and revo,” (to bring children to the world)  and this commandment continues forever because nothing of the Torah is void at any time, and even though people behave in a terrible way, we are not allowed to calculate such accounts, because his thoughts have deepened greatly, and the ways of Hashem are hidden. And Hashem has the power at one moment to destroy the whole world because of evil, and he does not do so, and therefore we too must continue to do our role in the world, without private and personal accounts.

And two examples led to this: while egyptians were enslaved at the same time as they murdered our children, we were worked hard by those sadistic wicked Egyptians, and there were those who divorced their wives as they claimed why to bring children into such a bad world? And I will reveal to your ears that even “Amram”, the father of Moshe, thought so, and expelled his wife Miriam, on this reason, and his little daughter claimed to her father! Your decree is harder than that of Pharaoh, that he did not decree but on the males, and you also decreed on the females. And here you will see what was at the end of the process, she returned and gave birth to him, and the Savior of Israel ‘moshe rabbanu’ was born. That is, out of darkness and exile, the Savior of Israel was born. To show us that we do not understand anything in our minds, we must fulfill our role faithfully, and G-d will fulfill His role.

Another example: King Hezekiah, who did not want to marry a woman because he saw that the evil ‘Menasseh’ who had sinned himself and many others, and also angered the Creator. The prophet Isaiah said to him, why should you think the accounts of heaven, do what is imposed on you, and the Almighty will fulfill His role, see at length in the Gemara berachot (Page 10,a) that he went and married a woman, etc.

And who knows which children came out of it, and what their role is.

And besides that, there are many good things in our world, and we must try to see the good!
