Question:
Shalom Rabbi:
I wanted to ask about the hallach that a person should translate the torah every week with targum onklus. Should the different versions of the onklus translation be redded.
Answer:
From the main law, it is not necessary to read the different versions of the Onklus translation, but the main thing is to read any interpretation that explains and interprets the words of the Torah, whether it is rashi’s interpretation or the translation of onklus that translates and explains the words of the Torah, and therefore it is enough in one formula from the translation that will explain the words of the Torah.
Although the translation is given from Sinai, there is a virtue for reading the exact wording of the translation as given in Sinai. Also according to the ‘kabbala’ there is an interest in reading the onclos translation.
Therefore, even when there are several versions in the Onclus translation, since we do not know the exact wording given in Sinai, a God-fearing will read the different formulas in the Onklus translation in order to reach a formula given from Sinai.
And they have already said in the Gemara brachot, a person that reads every parssah with the public, he completes his days and years.
