: The entire nation of Israel is descended from Abraham Isaac and Jacob our holy ancestors, as shown in the Genesis. Avraham Yitzchak and Jacob lived in the period of 1812 years before the counting. Our father Jacob died according to the Midrash 1505 years before the counting. Since then, the history of the Jewish people has been documented and known, in all its various stages. The period of the Bible the period of the prophetic judges and kings documented in the Bible, the period of the First and Second Temples, the period of the ‘tanaim’ and ‘amoraim’ ‘reshonim’ and ‘acharonim’ untill the present day. At no point did jews discover as a people to the African continent. Even if some Jews exiled to Africa, perhaps even some of the ten tribes were exiled there, we are not their descendants rather The descendants of the Tribes of Judah, ‘shimon’ and ‘binymin’  And the Levites who lived among these tribes. The people of Israel are the most conservative people, and the only people in the world whose history is documented, so it is impossible to doubt its origins, and there is certainly no such side that the people of Israel are descended from the people of Bento that you mentioned in the question. Of course, our history as the chosen people also places a heavy responsibility on us, to act as a chosen people to the Creator, to observe the commandments of the Creator and to adhere to his dimensions and leaderships, to sanctify the name of the Creator in the world.   Sources and reasoning

Question:

Shalom Your Rabbi

We are the Hebrew / Israeli people, are we descendants of Ami Bento?

Answer:

The entire nation of Israel is descended from Abraham Isaac and Jacob our holy ancestors, as shown in the Genesis.

Attention: You should not learn from one case to another, each case must be analyzed individually. Generally speaking, it's always best to have contact with a Rabbi in person, not just virtual contact. Note that where there is a local Rabbi("Mara Deatra"), one should ask him. The answers are under the responsibility of the rabbi who responded, and not under the responsibility of the website and/or the Head of the Institution.
