Question

I need a segula (spiritual remedy) for selling a house…

My property has been on the market for a long time, and nothing is moving.

Thank you.

Answer

There are several segulot (spiritual remedies) for selling a property, car, or other belongings (though it’s important to note, as with any segula, there’s no guarantee of success, and nothing is as powerful as a heartfelt prayer). These are some of the well-known segulot:

  • A segula for someone who wants to sell an item, such as a house or car, is to recite Psalm 150 six times over a cup of water and then pour the water on the item they wish to sell [1].

This is the Psalm to recite:

Transliteration

Hallelujah! Hallelu El bekodsho; halleluhu birki’a uzo. Halleluhu bigvurotav; halleluhu kerov gudlo. Halleluhu beteika shofar; halleluhu benevel vechinor.
Halleluhu betof umachol; halleluhu beminim veugav. Halleluhu betziltzlei shama; halleluhu betziltzlei teruah. Kol haneshama tehallel Yah; Hallelujah.

Translation

Hallelujah. Praise God in His sanctuary; praise Him in the firmament of His power. Praise Him for His mighty acts;praise Him according to His excellent greatness. Praise Him with the blast of the shofar; praise Him with harp and lyre. Praise Him with tambourine and dance; praise Him with strings and flute. Praise Him with resounding cymbals; praise Him with clashing cymbals. Let everything that has breath praise the Lord. Hallelujah.

  • For selling a house, it is recommended to recite the Pitum Haketoret (Incense Offering) three times daily while walking through the rooms of the house. This should be done during the day or after midnight but not during the first half of the night[2].

  • Additionally, if one has been trying to sell the house for a long time without success, it is advisable to check the mezuzot (doorpost scrolls)[3].

Regarding concerns about selling one’s first property, a response to this has been written elsewhere.

Additionally, we have listed segulot (remedies) for purchasing a home in a different place.

Good luck!

Attention: You should not learn from one case to another, each case must be analyzed individually. Generally speaking, it's always best to have contact with a Rabbi in person, not just virtual contact. Note that where there is a local Rabbi("Mara Deatra"), one should ask him.
