If I eat a weekday meal without bread and want to eat, in one bite, foods over which different blessings are recited (an omelet, tomato, and lettuce), what blessing do I recite in such a case, when I want to eat them together rather than one after the other?
If one food is secondary to the other—that is, one is primary and significant, while the other is subordinate to it—only the blessing on the primary food that is on the spoon should be recited. However, if both are primary, such as a fruit salad containing different fruits of the tree and of the ground, and you take both on one spoon, the blessing is determined by the majority of the food before you, not by the majority on the spoon. Nevertheless, ideally, one should be careful to hold on the spoon, when reciting the blessing, a majority of the type of food over which the blessing is being recited.
PLEASE NOTE*
Attention: You should not learn from one case to another, each case must be analyzed individually. Generally speaking, it's always best to have contact with a Rabbi in person, not just virtual contact. Note that where there is a local Rabbi("Mara Deatra"), one should ask him. The answers are under the responsibility of the rabbi who responded, and not under the responsibility of the website and/or the Head of the Institution.
