Is a married woman permitted, during her days of mourning, to wear makeup and jewelry on Shabbat that falls during her mourning period?
A married woman who has become a mourner, although she is forbidden throughout the seven days of mourning to apply cosmetic powder to her face or lipstick to her lips, and likewise to wear jewelry, may nevertheless do all of these things on Shabbat during the mourning period—if this is her usual practice every Shabbat. Nevertheless, it is preferable that she reduce this somewhat from her normal practice, but she should not refrain entirely. There is no distinction between whether she is at home with her mourning household members or with other people.
PLEASE NOTE*
Attention: You should not learn from one case to another, each case must be analyzed individually. Generally speaking, it's always best to have contact with a Rabbi in person, not just virtual contact. Note that where there is a local Rabbi("Mara Deatra"), one should ask him. The answers are under the responsibility of the rabbi who responded, and not under the responsibility of the website and/or the Head of the Institution.
