Tomb of Tana Hakadosh Rabbi Nachum Ish Gamzu
Rabbi Nachum Ish Gamzu was one of the first Tannaim (sages of the Mishnah era) and teacher of Rabbi Akiva
Is it permissible for a rabbi from a community abroad to invite Jews who are far from observing Torah and mitzvot to pray on Shabbat in his community when he understands that they will come in their vehicles due to the distance from the synagogue, but apparently, over time, they will listen to Torah lessons and become stronger in their observance of Torah and mitzvot? And is it obvious to the eye that, by joining the community, they will come closer to observing Torah and mitzvot over time?
While it is not permitted to invite people who desecrate Shabbat on Shabbat when it is known that they will come in their vehicles, and even for a mitzvah meal, such as a circumcision or a Shabbat meal, etc., which is only performed once, it is permitted to invite them to Shabbat in the community because it is proven that many who go there leave strengthened in their observance of the Torah, and this saves their lives in the World to Come, both they and their children and descendants.
PLEASE NOTE*
Attention: You should not learn from one case to another, each case must be analyzed individually. Generally speaking, it's always best to have contact with a Rabbi in person, not just virtual contact. Note that where there is a local Rabbi("Mara Deatra"), one should ask him. The answers are under the responsibility of the rabbi who responded, and not under the responsibility of the website and/or the Head of the Institution.
