Question

I am a firefighter on the fire brigade, and sometimes they respond to life-threatening cases
on Shabbat to put out fires. And after saving human lives, sometimes the owners ask them
to also save the animals that are inside the house. Is it permitted to save animals on
Shabbat, since this involves the violation of Shabbat, such as moving them, as well as
treating them, like with an oxygen generator, injections, etc.?

Answer

It is permitted to save pets even when it involves a rabbinical prohibition, such as moving
them or connecting them to oxygen and other rabbinical prohibitions, but one should not
profane the Sabbath for them in a Torah prohibition proper, even in a task that is not
necessary for their body, as this has a Torah basis.

Attention: You should not learn from one case to another, each case must be analyzed individually. Generally speaking, it's always best to have contact with a Rabbi in person, not just virtual contact. Note that where there is a local Rabbi("Mara Deatra"), one should ask him. The answers are under the responsibility of the rabbi who responded, and not under the responsibility of the website and/or the Head of the Institution.
