Question

Hello, rabbi

A woman who feels she has lost her hymen, bled a lot, [it wasn’t with a man, but rather an accident in the area]. Now she is married, if the couple did not see blood on the first night, should she separate from her husband?

Or are there no laws regarding distancing at all?

What exactly is the law?

Thank you

Answer

Hello and blessings

A virgin bride should distance herself from her husband after the first intercourse, even if she hasn’t seen blood.

Similarly, a bride who has not had relations but lost her virginity due to time, a blow, an activity, or a wound, etc., should stay away after the first relation, even if she did not see blood.

Only in the case of the bride whose doctor intentionally removed her virginity, the decisors (poskim) wrote that she does not need to separate after the first intercourse if she did not see blood, as written in Yabia Omer, Part 4, Yoreh De’ah, Section 10.

With best regards

Rabbi David Ohayon

Attention: You should not learn from one case to another, each case must be analyzed individually. Generally speaking, it's always best to have contact with a Rabbi in person, not just virtual contact. Note that where there is a local Rabbi("Mara Deatra"), one should ask him.
