Overview

The Bircat Avraham network of kollelim for Dayanut was established in 2005 with 70 avrechim in various branches around Yerushalayim. Bircat Avraham has made it their goal to nurture, develop and train the future generation of Gedolei Yisrael and dayanim.
These Rabbis, talmidei chachamim, are extraordinarily gifted, pious and diligent; they engage and toil in Torah with tremendous effort.
An average of one out of every 40 of those who register, are accepted into the Kollel. Each rabbi is accepted after a long process of inspection and scrutiny; they then go through a series of demanding, in-depth exams. Among those learning in the kollel are congregation rabbis, dayanim, lecturers, motzim and diligent Torah learners. They have become famous throughout Israel for the prestigious sefarim they have authored and devotion to Torah learning.
The Bircat Avraham study course requires the students to have complete command over the material being learnt – yeshiva style, in-depth, with meticulous scope in all areas of Torah. They must deliver summaries of the material being learned, and receive top marks for the high level exams.
The students of the Bircat Avraham kollel have jointly produced more than 130 sefarim on all subjects of the Torah, and more than once have won well-known awards (numerous writings have received the first place "Kitvu Lachem" award; first prize in the national public test on Yabi'a Omer established after Maran's passing; several have received first prize in the Torah writing contest in Bnei Brak; first prize for writings on the subject of 'mitzvot performed only in the Land of Israel'; first prize of the "Rishon L'Tzion" award in the Jerusalem council, and many more)
The Rabbis are available to answer your halachic questions via this site.

Excerpts of great rabbis regarding the "Bircat Avraham" Kollel for Dayanim

"This is the best kollel; I am familiar with many kollelim, but this is the best kollel. Ben porat Yosef, they sit and study! This is where the great Torah sages will originate from; the dayanim and poskim will emerge from this kollel" (The Rishon L'Tzion, Rabbi Yitzchak Yosef shlita – transcript taken from video).

"In general, kollel students should not go out to light the Chanukah candles exactly when the stars come out, due to the time lost from Torah learning, with the exception of the distinctive avreichim of Kollel Bircat Avraham. They are known for their diligence and will surely return to their learning immediately after candle lighting". (The Rishon L'Tzion Rabbi Yitzchak Yosef shlita – in a satellite shiur delivered on Motzei Shabbat Vayeshev 5775)

"In the Kollel Bircat Avraham there are distinguished talmidei chachamim diligently occupied with Torah learning". (Excerpt from a hand-written letter, written by Rabbi Chaim Kanievsky shlita, President of Mo'etzes Gedolei Hatorah)

"I am familiar with the avreichim who learn in Rav Bahbout's kollel, bli ayin hara, each of them a posek, a true Rosh yeshiva… undoubtedly they will become the future gedolei Yisrael". (Rabbi Reuven Elbaz shlita, member of the Mo'etzet Chachmei Hatorah and Rosh Yeshivat Ohr Hachaim – video)

"The Kollel, under the leadership of Rav Bahbout has become well-known… and it is from this prominent kollel that the future Gedolei Yisrael will emerge and illuminate the future generation" (Rabbi Baruch Mordechai Ezrachi shlita, member of the Mo'etzes Gedolei Hatorah and Rosh Yeshivas Ateres Yisroel – video)

"An unparalleled kollel… when you come across such a distinguished kollel, you realize that the spark of Mashiach is already beginning to shine" (The Mekubal, Rabbi Benayahu Shmueli shlita – video).

"There are some very special and talented students in the kollel…. (The late Rabbi Shmuel Auerbach ztz"l, Rosh Yeshivas Ma'alot Hatorah – video).

"In my opinion, this is one of the best kollelim in Yerushalayim, in all aspects… it's sweeter than honey; they simply sit and learn. Baruch Hashem there are talmidei chachamim here that are worth getting to know". (Rabbi Elchanan Peretz shlita, president and Av Beit Din of the "Chukei Mishpat" network of batei din – video).

"I am familiar with his kollel where dozens of avreichim sit and learn, and they learn very diligently, I am in touch with them, also in writing, and on occasion have delivered shiurim there… they're very dedicated and keen…" (The Mekubal Rabbi Yacov Ades shlita – video).

"I was amazed at the scope of writing of the avreichim at the Bircat Avraham kollel, and I thought to myself, baruch Hashem, there are still people like this today" (Rabbi Pinchas Korach shlita, one of the prominent leaders of the Yemenite congregation – letter).
